The Birth of Levi – Austin, TX Birth Photographer

I got a text from Levi’s mama about noon on April 26, 2013 which read “I think this might be the day. Lovely constant low back cramp with a med contraction about 7 apart. I’ll keep you in the loop.” The about an hour later, a text that said “Probably headed to the birth center in an hour.” And 37 minutes later “Come now.” Lol. Back story is baby #1 took almost 30 hours to arrive. So Mama was super patient and expecting another long labor. However she almost didn’t make it to the birth center in time! Without time to even undress baby Levi came swiftly into the world within minutes of her arrival at the birth center. Dad barely made it in time, having to come straight from work. And I arrived a few minutes after baby emerged. Mama was shocked, to say the least!

I still got lots of great shots, but wanted to capture some nice family photos as well, so I came back to their home when baby was about 6 weeks old to “finish” the story the way it might have began had I arrived earlier at the birth: with lots of happy and excitement. Thus the late blog post on this little guy! But every birth story is beautiful, even those that shock the pants off everyone. {If I were her, however, I might camp out at the birth center around 39 weeks from here on out!}

Enjoy!
