My beautiful friend and colleague Shelley welcomed her second son into the world on January 7. I was honored to have been there to capture it. Shelley too is a birth photographer and it’s always such a privilege to get to provide this service for someone you know will value the photos on a very deep, personal, intimate level.
Shelley and I met about a year ago in a local professional photographers forum. And we hit it off immediately. She introduced me to some fine vietnamese food and instantly became one of my favorite people ever to be around!
Jonah’s entry into the world was nothing short of amazing. Shelley’s midwives and doula were awe inspiring with their support and encouragement, despite more than one unpredicted turn (such as no water for the birth tub!). But it was, as always, a beautiful event!
As you can see from the photos – Shelley’s home had such lovely light. A perfect backdrop for this special occasion! So these are probably some of my favorite ever birth photography images. I hope you enjoy them too. Enjoy!
