The Best Birth Photos of 2015

It wasn’t an easy task, but I’ve selected my best birth photos from 2015. I feel fortunate to have met each family I worked with this past year. Every kind of birth is beautiful, and luckily I was able to capture a huge variety in 2015. I was also blessed with a  multitude of new opportunities. I found myself writing articles for Midwifery Today, KellyMom and Holistic Parenting. I got to speak at the first ever birth photography conference, Off-Call, held in Dallas, TX. I was interviewed by ABC News Nightline along the likes of supermodel Nicole Trunfio, to discuss the importance of breastfeeding photography. I was the keynote speaker at Cradle Me Here, an event hosted by the Houston Health Museum.  I published my first 2 magazine covers (Breastfeeding Today and Midwifery Today) and landed features inside magazines like The Natural Parent and on popular websites like The Huffington Post, SheKnows, Cosmo, Woman’s Day and Babycenter. I also was hired for travel, to document a surrogate’s journey in California.

As amazing as 2015 was, I have some big things in store for 2016. Some of them are personal goals: train for a relay race, complete some projects around the house, take and edit at least 1 photo of my kids every week for Project 52. Some are professional: publish an e-course on birth photography, speak at The Baby Summit in Atlanta in October, use periscope more often, take PBAP on the road, begin offering birth films as part of my services, open an art show. I look forward to crossing many more items off my bucket list this year. And want to thank you for being there to congratulate me every step of the way! There’s no doubt I couldn’t accomplish these things without support and encouragement!

Enjoy this slideshow highlighting the best of 2015!

P.S. If you’re wondering where all the #PBAP2015 love is, there will be a separate slideshow including the work of the 65 photographers working with me year round!
